who knew?

cleaning out the garage today.
came across a few things that we no longer need
so i thought i would try to sell them on craigslist.
one of them being this pack n play.
but who knew?
that this was all i ever needed to corral these two

it's perfect!
don't know why i never thought of it before.
neither of them can get in or out
by themselves.

we haven't been there in a looong time!

we used to go to pump it up quite a bit
but since monkey turned 4
he no longer is considered a toddler.
so we now have to go during the 10 & under play-times
which i found out today
surprisingly is empty!
there were maybe 2 other kids there.
easier to keep an eye on two when there aren't twenty others.

still sore

so this past sunday
i participated in the 'bridge to brews' 10k
we had beautiful weather
and although i struggled to complete it,
i had a great time!

and yes, today is thursday.
and i'm still sore.
man, i'm old...

the joys

i can't help it.
sometimes my boys do something so silly.
so funny. so hilarious.
that i just want to share.
to share with the three people who read my silly blog.

that sometimes
some things happen
and my first reaction is to grab my camera.
the first thought that runs through my head is
oooh, i can't wait to put that on my blog

and as i'm snapping away on my camera
taking pictures and making mental notes
i'm brought back to reality
by my three year old

potty training. again.
it seems like only yesterday...
yet, here we are
but this time, i will not get frustrated.

truthfully, this time around has gone fairly well.

we are exactly one week in.
and today was a good day.
no major accidents to make elmo sad.
we are on our way to being a diaper-free home.
yippee!
so excited. really. truly. ex-cited!

wise words

a wise mommy recently reminded me of something.

when our boys are all grown up, they are not going to remember
how clean (or dirty) our house was
or how much laundry always needed to be done.
hopefully, they remember all the fun things we do together.
playing, laughing, exploring and having fun.

so,
as a new season begins
as we welcome spring,
i'd like to try to remember this.
to remember to have fun first and always
for this is what childhood memories are made of.

grandma took the rugrats to the movies yesterday
to see 'how to train your dragon'
monkey did pretty well up until the last two minutes of the movie
when he had to use the bathroom.
according to grandma,
he stood up and announced
"i have to pee. can you put it on pause?"

finally.
we found the perfect place to take the boys easter egg hunting!
there were no lines. no entry fees. no hassles.
the johnson's back yard.
had a wonderful time.
hope we can do it again next year.
