christmas fun.

little elves were up all night.
(okay, 'til 11)
putting together these awesome rides.

my little sister sent these up for
my two little munchkins.

a big present from auntie kristina!
isn't that awesome?!?
i only wish that she could've been here
to see in person
how much they loved it.

so we took 'em out for a ride around the block.

pretty cool. wish i had one.
monkey: you should ask auntie kristina for one.
me: do you think she'll get me one?
monkey: yup. you've been a good girl.
i think so too.

"...here comes lucas!..."

Merry Christmas!

went to furrow farm to chop down our christmas tree.
but the boys found something much more interesting.

mud and sticks!

my sister stayed with us for ten days.
and chopping down a christmas tree was one of the few things
that she wanted to while she was up here.

those crazy californians...

more yard work

one of the great things about living in the pacific northwest
is the beautiful season of fall.
but fall, they do.
those beautiful yellow, orange and red leaves.

monkey found a little friend.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

aha!
so this is why we have kids!
to do...

...yard work!

so along with our beautiful oregon fall
comes the not-so-beautiful falling of the leaves.

and after a little bit of work,

comes a lot of play!

mini me

a few months ago
daddy got all excited about the idea of dressing up for halloween.
he wanted to be dr. evil and mucus as his mini me.
so i searched and searched for the best price for these costumes.
lingered over ebay, craigslist and all the costume sites.
and i ended up just making the mini me costume.
it's the first full outfit i have ever made on my sewing machine
and i was proud.
could not wait for halloween. very excited.

halloween night.
mucus is in fine form. absolutely miserable.
not feeling well and letting everybody know it.
did not want to match with daddy. at all.
thankfully, monkey did.
just long enough for a picture.

heritage apple farm

rainy season is upon us
rain, clouds, gloom and gray.
so when there is a clear day...
we go out and play.

off to the apple farm
where there were...
big apples, lil apples
a bouncy apple

a hay maze

fun with our friends.
and of course...

pumpkins.

disney fun

i love a good deal.
i'm a coupon-a-holic.
i love stopping at garage sales
i just think that they are fun.
and so, i'm a frequent shopper of
the pass it on sales.

two years ago...

i picked up both of these costumes for under $15!

and this year...

these two boys just make me laugh!
they put on these costumes every day.
and they re-enact a scene from their tigger and pooh movie.
so cute!

fun times!

almost there...

beginnings

my last post was titled end of a chapter
it was only fitting that today's post is about beginnings.
first...about me.
i walked my first 10k
over the great columbia river
on the beautiful astoria bridge.
this was my first walk
and will not be my last.
this is my only picture of it.
can you believe that?
okay, my camera died.
but at least it's a pretty good picture.
gorgeous day. beautiful clear, cold skies.
had an absolutely wonderful time.
cannot wait to do it again.

and secondly,
today is the first day
of the rest of our
thankfully and gratefully employed lives.
we're proud of you daddy!

the end of a chapter

farewell. adios. au revoir.
ciao. sayonara.
hasta la vista, bay-bee!

we are now a crib-free home.
posted on craigslist
and picked up today.

truly the end of a chapter.
and the beginning of lots of nap time fights...

puppy love

dear santa,
i've been a very good little boy this year.
i've given up my pacifier.
i just moved into a big boy bed
and only cried a little bit when
i had to say good-bye to my crib.
i eat most of my meals.
i try very hard not to hit my brother,
but sometimes it's hard
because he hits me first.
and i'm working on my tantrums.
overall, i've been pretty good.
and i really, really love puppies.

like this one from the pumpkin patch.
she was so fun.

i think she liked me too,
but she was trying hard not to show it.

she let me pet her.
and she kissed my hand.
so i brought her a stick.

she's my best friend.
if only i could've taken her home.
so you see, santa?
i've been a good boy.
can i please have a puppy for christmas?
-mucus.
