pumpkin patch season!

well to say that we like pumpkin patch season

around here would be an understatement.

monkey has been asking to visit the patch since june.

and here we are...

only six days into october

two pumpkin patches

and ten pumpkins.

daddy brought home a big surprise.

and monkey waited so patiently while

he put it together.

and after many...is it ready now?

and 20 minutes

it was finally done.

where did my sweet little boy go?

a busy one

so yesterday

a friend calls me up

and asks if i wanted some plums.

yes. yes. yes.

i love these little italian plums.

i want some.

we went over

and started picking.

and picking. and picking.

not until today,

did i realize just how much i came home with.

the first thing i made is this yummy tart

from barefoot contessa.

can't go wrong with her stuff.

yummy. yummers.

yum.

i think i'm gonna have to make about 100 of these tarts

to use up all those plums.

i did make a batch of jam too!

finally went and checked this place out.

and all three boys give it a thumbs up.

who's having more fun here.

hubby or mucus?

after an hour of solid play

all three boys were pretty pooped.

we decided to have lunch

at one of our fave restaurants

fuji's

this is a first time experience for both of them

being up close to the grill

having a chef cook in front of you.

monkey thought it was great.

and mucus did not.

the chef would start to do a trick

and mucus would say

no, tayn tou.
