it's funny. but i just can't help it.
when i see other kids
the same age as monkey,
doing things that he can't quite do.
he tries, but it's just out of his reach.
when i see this,
i freak out.
i think...man, i'm an awful mom.
i need to work on that more with him.
and i do just that.
we work on it.
and work on it some more.
until monkey is so sick of whatever it is
that he just gives up completely.
and then i'm heartbroken.
and i give up as well.
then. all of a sudden. when i'm not looking,
he does it.
all on his own.
and completely surprises me.
watch me mommy! i can do it now!
i'm a big boy!
and my heart is overflowing.
