state fair

after much convincing, the boys entered the "stinky" barn
where they saw cute bunnies and fluffy chicks

and wanted to take them all home.

a "must" stop
the dairy maids of oregon.
for the best deal of the fair
$1 ice cream cones
and THE best oreo milk shakes ever.

and i'm just so happy
that both boys are finally tall enough
to ride the rides.

where else can you take an airplane ride,

a tandem motorcycle ride,

a dump truck ride,

a hot air balloon,

a space-ship shuttle thingy ride,

and pose in between some banana trees?

the oregon state fair!

stop.

every now and then

we have to just stop

and smell the roses.

each other

people stop
and ask me all the time

"are they twins?"
no, i just like to dress them alike.

"how far apart are they?"
15 months

"wow, that's really close..."
yup. but they'll always have each other.

yes, you boys are a handful.
yes, you drive me crazy.

and no, i wouldn't have had it any other way.

last days

enjoying the last few days of summer...

Monday, August 23, 2010

times have changed

when i look back through old photos
of vacations of the past,
i see pictures of beautiful scenery
gorgeous sunsets.
hubby and i on the beach.
breathtaking waterfalls.
me lookin' cute in front of a palm tree.
clear, blue skies against greenery of the forest.

but not tonight.
tonight, i'm looking through the mere 75 pictures
i took of our long weekend vacation in sunriver
and all i see are two stinky, smelly, little boys.
lots and lots of pictures of these boys...

boys sitting on a log
looking cute...er, stinky...

boys playing in a bouncy house...
sweating and getting stinky

boys exploring the woods...

don't ask me why mucus smiles like that.

boys playing with water...

...getting ready for a bike ride...

and boys waiting for some ice cream!

no pictures of the river
the trees or even any of the mountains we passed on the way down.
just plenty of these two little boys.

oh yeah...and this picture.
my ever-so-daring mucus
climbed up the monkey bars
all by himself.
and got stuck.
i certainly couldn't get him down.
(i was too busy taking the picture...shh...)

horning's hideout

just up the road
and down a little canyon
there's a place called...

where mucus caught his first
little fishy!

can you see it?

monkey caught a craw daddy
who was camera shy.

"summer, can you stay awhile here in oregon?"
