my lil romeo

what's so cute about this picture?

well, i'm glad you asked.

see at first look,
there really isn't anything special about this picture.
but about five minutes before i took this,
i asked the boys to change into their pajamas.

and as you can see,
these are not pj's
but this is how mucus comes out.
all big boy and proud
because he changed all by himself.

and yes, those pants are backwards.
...he was sooo proud of himself.

fireworks

monkey loves, loves, loves fireworks.
he liked throwing down pop-its
and holding on to the sparklers
even wanted to light the bigger ones
just like daddy does.

the brighter the better
the louder the better

mucus
does not.
he covers his ears this way.

and this way.

and even tries to do it this way.

but it's too hard to do both.
he liked the sparklers,
but didn't care too much for the noise of the other fireworks.

hope everyone had a good 4th of july.

Happy 4th of July!

i try pretty hard to make sure that the boys
experience and see many things.
from big events
to little activities
and everything in between.

so it surprised me
that when we took the boys to
see the Hillsboro 4th of July parade,
it was their very first parade ever.

and they had a blast!
they danced. and waved.
and grabbed candy.

and posed for an occasional picture

with a congressman.

thanks to the johnson's for letting us join them.

and for taking a great, rare family picture.
